A History of American Banking: Trailer

The true test of mastery isn’t the ability to teach; it is the ability to make beautiful.

Happy Sunday afternoon, friends.

I’ve been working on a project and want to share a glimpse of it.

It’s a graphical history of American banking — or, rather, the trailer.

I’ve long used art to sharpen my understanding of banking. It started with digital charts. Then graduated to printed art. And most recently videography.

Now I’m tying them together.

The thrust of my work isn’t only to teach banking, but also to teach it in a different way. Who wants a regular vitamin when you can have a gummy bear vitamin?

That’s what I make: gummy bear vitamins.

Every second you spend reading, watching or looking at my content, I want to be a second you enjoy. I hope it breezes you with the freshness of originality.

Learning about banking needn’t be boring. Trust me.

For those of you who find my work valuable, I would love if you signed up as a paid subscriber to my substack.

The only reason I can do what I do is because of folks like you.

Thank you,

John
